Whether you’re protecting your home, your farm, or your business from power outages, we’ll make sure the right generator is installed right — the first time.

What we offer:

Installation

When it comes to standby generator installation, doing it right means more than just placing a unit outside. Our licensed electricians handle every detail: sizing, placement, ESA permits, Hydro One disconnect scheduling, and coordination with your gas or propane technician. Generac-trained and fully insured, we make the process seamless from first quote to final inspection.

Service Plan

A generator that isn't maintained is a generator that may not start when you need it most. Our annual service includes oil and filter changes, new spark plugs, battery inspection, and full load testing of the transfer switch and generator. We offer service plans to keep your unit in peak condition year-round.

Warranty Repair

As an authorized Generac Warranty Dealer, we handle all warranty repairs and submit all paperwork directly to Generac headquarters on your behalf. You don't have to navigate manufacturer claims or wonder if your repair qualifies — we take care of it from start to finish

How to Benefit from a Standby Generator

Speedy Electric authorized Generac dealer installing a standby generator at an Ontario property

Never worry about a power outage again. A Generac standby generator kicks in automatically within seconds of a power failure — no extension cords, no manual startup, no running outside in a storm. For homes with electric heat, medical equipment, or livestock operations that depend on continuous power, a standby generator isn’t a luxury. It’s essential.

Speedy Electric handles everything from the initial site assessment and sizing through to the ESA permit, Hydro One disconnect, and gas or propane connection. All you have to do is call us.

Frequently Asked Questions

Generator sizing depends on your electrical load — things like electric furnaces, heaters, and critical appliances all factor in. We recommend an in-person quote to accurately determine the right size for your property. All quotes are free with no obligation.

The total cost depends on the size of unit required, the distance from your electrical panel to the generator, your gas or propane technician's fee, and any trenching needed. Contact us for a free, no-obligation quote tailored to your property.

Installation typically takes about eight hours, with your hydro off for approximately four hours. Because we're required to coordinate with your hydro supplier and the Electrical Safety Authority for disconnect and inspection scheduling, lead time is usually within one month of your order.

All new Generac generators include a 5-year warranty: 5 years on the engine and alternator, 3 years on parts, and 2 years on labour and travel. As an authorized warranty dealer, we handle all warranty paperwork and submissions to Generac on your behalf.
